Most of us stick with the garage door that comes standard with our house; the most common type is the kind that rolls up and is made of metal, usually aluminum or steel. It’s often painted to complement the rest of the house; it might match the color of the front door, or it might contrast with the house color. Many garage doors are white or beige. Have you considered getting a garage door that’s a bit off the beaten path?

The possibilities are diverse; you could get a garage that swings out to the side, or that opens in the center into two doors, reminiscent of horse stables.
